40 Ways to Become More Self-Sufficient

One of the main reasons we wanted to have our own farm is to become more self-sufficient, live off the land, hunt for food or raise food, etc.

No more dependence on the grocery store for veggies and fruits.

No more dependence on the grocery store for meat, or dairy.

Sure, there are some things that we'd have to buy, like baking soda for instance, but for the most part, we wanted to be as independent as humanly possible without being miserable.

I have toyed with the idea of attempting to try eating purely things we've either grown, raised, or hunted... but, honestly, that sounds super tedious and I'm not quite sure I'm ready for that yet.

Not to mention, I'm not sure I want to give up quick cook oatmeal just yet for the kids
